Emilio Montaño

Emilio Montaño (born 18 December 1953) is a former professional tennis player from Mexico.

[1] He attended Rice University in the early 1970s and played for a highly ranked collegiate tennis team which included Harold Solomon.

His best singles performances at Grand Prix tournaments were quarter-final appearances at Hong Kong in 1976 and South Orange in 1979.

[4] He also represented the Mexico Davis Cup team, in a total of six matches, which included a 1976 tie against the United States in Tucson.

[5] In 1979 he won a five-set reverse singles match against Canada's Robert Bettauer which secured a tie for Mexico.
