Eoin Hayes

Eoin Hayes (born 15 October 1987) is an Irish independent politician, who has been a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin Bay South constituency since the 2024 general election.

[2] Although elected to the Dáil as a member of the Social Democrats, he was indefinitely suspended from the party almost immediately afterwards following a controversy over holding shares in Palantir Technologies.

[17] During his employment with Palantir Technologies, Hayes received 7,000 shares in the company, which supplies artificial intelligence tools to the Israel Defense Forces.

[18] The Social Democrats suspended Hayes from the parliamentary party with immediate effect,[20] with deputy leader Cian O'Callaghan stating: "This is a serious matter.

"[19] On 13 December, the Social Democrats' head office near the Dáil was evacuated after staff reported receiving a suspicious package addressed to Hayes.

However, an investigation by the army's bomb disposal unit found that the package contained no explosive material, and the Gardaí determined that the threat was not credible.

[22][23] On 11 February 2025 the national executive of the Social Democrats completed an investigation into the matter and chose to suspend Hayes from the party indefinitely.
