Ernest Denny

Ernest Wriothesley Denny DL DSO (5 February 1872 – 20 October 1949) was an English first-class cricketer and British Army officer.

[3] Batting twice in the match, Denny was unbeaten without scoring in the Oxford first innings, while in their second innings he was unbeaten having scored a single run.

[4] After graduating from Oxford, Denny attended the Royal Military College, Sandhurst in 1891.

[7][8] He was promoted to major in October 1906,[9] before retiring from active service in July 1910.

[10] Denny returned to active service during the First World War,[11] during which he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in September 1918.
