Esko-Juhani Tennilä

Esko-Juhani Tennilä (10 October 1947 – 6 April 2024) was a Finnish leftist politician from Lapland and member of Parliament since 1975 until 2011.

Tennilä was born in Rovaniemen maalaiskunta and studied at the University of Tampere.

He was chairman of Communist Party of Finland (Unity) in 1989–1990.

Tennilä was internal critic of Left Alliance politics and was dismissed in 1995 from Left Alliance's parliamentary group as he opposed joining the Paavo Lipponen's first cabinet.

Tennilä also wrote poetry and children's books.
