Esperance is a census-designated place (CDP) in Snohomish County, Washington, United States.
[5] According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.9 km2), all of it land.
As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 3,503 people, 1,315 households, and 956 families residing in the CDP.
21.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
Arguments against annexation include desire to remain part of unincorporated area of Snohomish county, an expectation that taxes may rise with annexation, and the desire to take part in activities that are possible in the county that would not be permitted under city regulations.
