Estonia, Greece, Poland and Slovenia made their début with Austria returning and Bulgaria, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal and Yugoslavia deciding not to participate.
The prizes were presented by Princess Christina, the youngest sister of Carl XVI Gustaf, King of Sweden.
