Everett Jerome Murphy (July 24, 1852 – April 10, 1922) was a U.S. Representative from Illinois.
Murphy moved with his parents to Sparta, Illinois when quite young.
He worked as a city clerk for Sparta in 1877, but resigned in 1878 and moved to Chester, the county seat, to accept the appointment of deputy clerk of the circuit court.
He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1896 to the Fifty-fifth Congress and served as member of the state board of pardons from 1897 to 1899.
