Evie Greene

Edith Elizabeth "Evie" Greene (14 January 1875 – 11 September 1917)[1][2] was a much-photographed English actress and singer who played in Edwardian musical comedies in London and on Broadway.

[1] She was the daughter of Richard Bentley Greene, a retired naval officer, and his wife Edith.

While a young teenager, Greene began her career as a dancer in a touring production of Walter Slaughter's medieval comic opera Marjorie.

[11] Greene sang the role of the Plaintiff in a 1902 benefit performance of Trial by Jury, alongside Hayden Coffin and the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company stars, with Lionel Monckton playing the mute role of the Associate.

[8] Greene appeared in 1915 in a revival of Florodora, earning good notices,[14] and performed through 1916, at least as late as 22 November of that year, at the London Palladium.
