Executive Order 14208

Executive Order 14208, titled "Ending Procurement and Forced Use of Paper Straws", is an executive order signed by U.S. president Donald Trump in an attempt to end the use of paper straws and returning the use of plastic straws.

Additionally, paper straws sometimes come individually wrapped in plastic, undermining the environmental argument for their use.

It is therefore the policy of the United States to end the use of paper straws.

"[1] The executive order reverts the order that his second-term predecessor Joe Biden made that aimed to get rid of plastic straws by 2027 and phasing out all single use plastics by 2035.

[2] President Trump has been against paper straws for a long time, his 2020 reelection campaign sold Trump-branded reusable plastic straws for $15 per pack of 10.
