Fabián Andrés Vargas Rivera (born 17 April 1980) is a Colombian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder.

He spent most of his professional career playing for América de Cali and Boca Juniors, making more than 100 appearances for both clubs.

He also played for Internacional, Almería, AEK Athens, Independiente, Barcelona SC, Millonarios, and La Equidad.

[citation needed] On 18 June 2009, Vargas has signed a three-year deal with Spanish club UD Almería for a fee worth €4million ($6.5 million).
