A short segment of Fallowfield Township in the northeastern corner runs adjacent with Monessen across the Monongahela River in Westmoreland County, As of the census[6] of 2000, there were 4,461 people, 1,765 households, and 1,313 families living in the township.

There were 1,878 housing units at an average density of 88.2 per square mile (34.1/km2).
