Fatah–Hamas Doha Agreement

The parties agreed to form an interim national consensus government composed of independent technocrats, to prepare for upcoming elections.

The Fatah–Hamas Doha agreement was signed on 7 February 2012 by President Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas chief Khaled Mashal in the presence of Qatar's emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, intended to end the Fatah–Hamas conflict.

The task of the new government would be the preparation for upcoming elections and also overseeing reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip.
