The highest peak of Zhejiang, Huangmaojian (1,929 metres (6,329 ft)), is located within the reserve.
Fengyangshan (Chinese: 凤阳山; pinyin: Fèngyángshān); Huangmaojian is the highest point of the mountain.
[1] Presence of South China tiger faeces in the reserve has been confirmed with genetic methods.
At least 1,448 species and varieties of seed-bearing plants occur in the Fengyangshan reserve, of which 47% are endemic to China.
