Fita Bayisa (Amharic: ፊጣ ባይሳ; born December 15, 1972, in Ambo, Oromia)[1] is an Ethiopian long-distance runner, best known for winning a bronze medal in the 5,000 metres event at the 1992 Summer Olympics.
A year earlier, he had won a silver medal at the World Championships in Tokyo.
He beat Paul Tergat by a second in the unusual race across Belgrade's city fortress.
