[3] The Town of Florence is in the northwestern corner of Oneida County and is northwest of the City of Rome.

The racial makeup of the town was 98.99% White, 0.28% African American, 0.28% Asian, and 0.46% from two or more races.
16.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
