François Bassil

[4] In 2015, Bassil was named in Global Finance Magazine’s first annual list of Who’s Who in The Middle East.

[6] Bassil holds a Doctoral Degree in Law (Ph.D.) from the Catholic University of Louvain, in Belgium.

In 2012, Lebanese President Michel Sleiman awarded Bassil the title of Commander in the National Order of the Cedar.

[10] In 2015, Bassil was awarded the Knight Grand Cross of the First Class of the Order of St. Gregory the Great by Pope Francis.

[13] He then lead the success and growth of Byblos Bank in Lebanon, transforming it from a mid-sized locally based entity to one of Lebanon's top three banks,[14] with total assets of US$19 billion, and customer deposits reaching US$15.7 billion as of 31 December 2014.
