Her doctoral thesis on "People who come back from the netherland in the Tibetan cultural areas" received the prix Delalande-Guérineau from the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres.
She holds the position of Director of Research Emeritus at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in Paris.
