Franziska Kersten

Franziska Kersten (born 19 December 1968) is a German veterinarian and politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) who has been serving as a member of the Bundestag since 2021, representing the Börde – Jerichower Land district.

From 2019 to 2020, Kersten served as vice president of the German Environment Agency (UBA).

[2] From 2020 to 2021, she worked at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.

In addition to her committee assignments, Kersten has been a member of the German delegation to the Franco-German Parliamentary Assembly.

[6] She has also been an alternate member of the German delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) since 2022.
