Frederick Currie (cricketer)

Frederick Alexander Currie (23 September 1851 – 13 June 1902) was an English first-class cricketer and British Army officer.

The son of Major Mark Edward Currie, he was born in British India at Ferozepore in September 1851.

Following the expedition he fought in the Second Anglo-Afghan War and was present at the Battle of Ali Masjid.

[2] He was later appointed a lieutenant colonel,[6] at which point he retired from active service.

[11] His grandfather was Sir Frederick Currie, while several cousins also played cricket at first-class level.
