Fuchū (府中町, Fuchū-chō) is a town located in Aki District, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan.
[2] Per Japanese census data,[3] the population of Fuchū has been steady for the past 30 years.
Following the Meiji restoration, the village of Fuchū was established within Aki District, Hiroshima with the creation of the modern municipalities system on April 1, 1889.
Fuchū has a mayor-council form of government with a directly elected mayor and a unicameral town council of 18 members.
In terms of national politics, the town is part of the Hiroshima 4th district of the lower house of the Diet of Japan.
