He is also known as co-founder of the Turkish Journalists' Association (1946) and the daily newspaper Hürriyet (1948).

The contributors included Ahmet Rasim, Ercümend Ekrem, Fazıl Ahmed, Cevad Şakir and Mustafa İzzet.
