Gaines, New York

Gaines is a town in Orleans County,[3] New York,[4] United States.

The town is named after General Edmund P. Gaines,[6] who defended the area during the War of 1812.

New York State Route 104[citation needed] (Ridge Road) is an east–west highway across the town.

New York State Route 98[17] (Oak Orchard Road) is a north–south highway, intersecting NY-104 north of the village of Albion at Childs.

27.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 16.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
