It is situated on the south side of the Vale of Pickering immediately north of the Yorkshire Wolds.

Ganton is situated on the Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail and Centenary Way, long-distance footpaths.

The Grade II listed Ganton Hall[3] is the family seat of the investment banker and businessman Nicholas Wrigley.
