Gaupne is the administrative center of the municipality of Luster in Vestland county, Norway.

The village of Veitastrond is located across the mountains 20 kilometres (12 mi) to the northwest.

The village is about 40 kilometres (25 mi) south of the famous Nigardsbreen glacier, and the Breheimsenteret museum is located about 25 kilometres (16 mi) to the north of Gaupne in the village of Jostedal.

The nearby Leirdøla power plant is located just north of the village.
