Gaziantep Zoo

The zoo, located in a Wildlife Protection and Recreation Area, includes a safari park and a zoology and nature museum.

An area of 1,000 daa (1.0 km2; 0.39 sq mi) within the Burç Forests has been allocated as a Wildlife Protection and Recreation Area,[1][2] in Şahinbey district of Gaziantep Province, Turkey,[3] The Metropolitan Municipality started the construction of the Gaziantep Zoo inside the Burç Nature Park in 1998.

[1][2] The zoo includes a Safari park, opened in 2018, with animals of Africa, stretching over 350 daa (0.35 km2; 0.14 sq mi).

[4] The Zoology and Nature Museum was established on an area of 700 m2 (7,500 sq ft), where taxidermied specimens and fossils of zoo animals are exhibited.

Cloven-hoofed animals of all breeds are kept in areas of 20–25–30 daa (0.020–0.025–0.030 km2; 0.0077–0.0097–0.0116 sq mi) with shock wires around them.
