George Meader

George Meader (September 13, 1907 – October 15, 1994), was a Republican politician from the US state of Michigan.

He practiced law from 1948 to 1950 and was chief counsel of the United States Senate Banking and Currency subcommittee investigating the Reconstruction Finance Corporation in 1950.

[1] In 1948, Meader made an unsuccessful run to defeat incumbent U.S. Representative Earl C. Michener in the Republican primary election.

[1] In 1966, he lost in the Republican primary to Marvin L. Esch, who went on to defeat Vivian in the general election.

[1] Meader resumed the private practice of law and served as staff counsel of the Joint Committee on Congressional Operations from 1971 to 1975.
