George Rumpel (May 10, 1850[1] – 1916[2]) was a German-born manufacturer and politician in Ontario, Canada.
[1] The son of Frederick Rumpel and Fredericka Rick, he was born in Saxony and apprenticed as a shoemaker.
In 1903, he returned to Germany with his two sons to study advanced felt-making techniques.
[2] Rumpel served as chair of the Water Works Commission and was also a member of the Parks Board.
The city plans to construct a central transit station in the area.
