It was written by Robert Blees and George Zateslo, directed by Bruce Bilson and stars Caryn Richman as Gidget, Dean Butler, Allison Barron, William Schallert, Anne Lockhart and Mary Frann.

Gidget plans a surprise 30th birthday party for Jeff that will reunite their old surfing friends, but she must take the place of a coworker and coordinate a trip in Hawaii.

She wants to learn how to surf but sneaks out of the house to see Mickey, a suave, self-serving beach bum, behind the back of Albert, her nerdy boyfriend.

Gidget returns from Hawaii just in time to save her marriage and rescue Kim from her troubles.
