Gilliam is a village in Caddo Parish, Louisiana, United States.
On May 13, 1908, a tornado struck the community around dinnertime, killing 34 people and devastating the town, leaving only two homes standing.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Gilliam has a total area of 2.0 square miles (5.2 km2), all land.
29.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
About 20.5% of families and 24.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 35.7% of those under the age of eighteen and 14.3% of those 65 or over.
