Glen Elder, Kansas

Glen Elder is a city in Mitchell County, Kansas, United States.

[3] Glen Elder was originally known as West Hampton, and under the latter name was laid out and platted in 1871 by promoters who built a large gristmill at the site.

[4] The town later adopted the name Glen Elder when the post office of that name was moved there from its former location a half mile north.

[7] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.44 square miles (1.14 km2), all of it land.

[8] The 2020 United States census counted 362 people, 171 households, and 106 families in Glen Elder.
