Gmina Aleksandrów, Lublin Voivodeship

Gmina Aleksandrów is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Biłgoraj County, Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland.

Its seat is the village of Aleksandrów, which lies approximately 16 kilometres (10 mi) south-east of Biłgoraj and 91 km (57 mi) south of the regional capital Lublin.

The gmina covers an area of 54.26 square kilometres (20.9 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 3,184.

[3] The gmina contains part of the protected area called Puszcza Solska Landscape Park.

The area was the site of five massacres of Poles by German soldiers during the Second World War, in the village of Aleksandrów: August 1942, February, June and August 1943 and July 1944.
