[1] He got admission in the Noubahini College, Dhaka in eleventh grade, but never attended for the circumstances of his death.

[3][4] On the way to the hospital, photojournalist Jibon Ahmed from Daily Manab Zamin captured a widely circulated image of Nafiz lying in the rickshaw's footwell with a Bangladeshi flag tied around his head, his arms and legs sprawled.

The image quickly spread on social media and was featured on the front page of Manab Zamin the following day.

It was only the next day that he found his son's body at the morgue of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital.

[4] On 19 August 2024, two advisers of the interim government and principle coordinators of Anti-discrimination Students Movement, Nahid Islam and Asif Mahmud, visited Nafiz's home.
