In his debut season with the Periquitos, Bogdanović scored five league goals in 24 appearances, as the club finished in fourth place.
He later lost his place in the team, before switching to Extremadura in early 1998, helping them win promotion to the top flight.
[6] He helped the side to a fourth-place finish in the 2000–01 season, as the club qualified for European football for the first time in history and earned a spot in the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
The following year, Bogdanović led the Oklopnici as captain to a highest-ever third-place finish to secure a spot in the UEFA Cup.
