The district consisted of a single campus - Goree School - that served students in grades pre-kindergarten through twelve.
The ethnic composition of students in the 2002-2003 school year was 34 Hispanic (72%), 9 White (19%), and 4 African American (9%).
In order for the proposal to pass, voters in both Goree and Munday had to approve the plan.
On July 1, 2003, the merger took effect, creating the Munday Consolidated Independent School District.
[2] When classes resumed in August, the Goree campus became Munday Junior High School, serving the district's seventh and eighth graders.
