Government of Oklahoma City

[1] City administrative staff and elected officials have offices at the historic city hall located on the western edge of the central business district in Downtown Oklahoma City.

An amendment in 1927 established the council-manager form of government.

The Oklahoma City Council is non-partisan and its nine members are elected to four-year terms.

[4] The current city manager is Craig Freeman and assumed office on January 2, 2019, after Jim Couch announced his retirement after serving as city manager for 18 years.

[6] The Federal Transfer Center, Oklahoma City, a facility within the Federal Bureau of Prisons is located on the western edge of Will Rogers World Airport.
