Grandview, Missouri

Grandview is a city in Jackson County, Missouri, United States.

[5] The city was named for the view obtained from the elevated town site.

[6] Grandview is located at 38°53′6″N 94°31′21″W / 38.88500°N 94.52250°W / 38.88500; -94.52250 (38.885007, -94.522578),[7] along U.S. Route 71, bordering Kansas City to the south.

[8] The 2020 United States census[11] counted 26,209 people, 10,255 households, and 5,718 families in Grandview.

There were 11,228 housing units at an average density of 762.3 per square mile (294.3/km2).

Of all households, 36.5% consisted of individuals and 8.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

The racial makeup of the city was 48.4% White (45.0% non-Hispanic white), 40.8% African American, 0.5% Native American, 1.1% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 5.1% from other races, and 4.0% from two or more races.
