Great Coastal Railway Journeys is a BBC documentary series produced by Naked West and presented by Michael Portillo,[1] a former Conservative MP and Minister of State for Transport.
Returning to the railway, Portillo's next stop is North Berwick and, after a walk on the beach, he sails to Bass Rock to see a large colony of gannets.
After climbing Arthur's Seat, he visits the Scottish Parliament Building, followed by Holyrood Palace where he discusses Mary Queen of Scots.
[15] In his fourth journey, Portillo explores the west coast of Scotland, starting in Fairlie and finishing in Lewis and Harris.
Next, he takes the Red Funnel ferry to East Cowes, on the Isle of Wight, and makes his way to Ryde where he walks to the end of the pier.
