Greg Docherty

Greg Alexander Docherty (born 10 September 1996)[5] is a Scottish professional footballer who plays for EFL League One club Charlton Athletic as a midfielder.

[7] Docherty joined Hamilton Academical at the age of 9 and progressed through all academy levels from u10s to the first team,[3] and turned professional in October 2012.

[3][11] On 28 May 2017 he scored the only goal of the two-legged 2016–17 Scottish Premiership playoff tie against Dundee United, ensuring Hamilton would remain in the top division for the next season.

[17] Upon his return to Rangers for the 2019–20 season he made 5 appearances, but none after August, and in December 2019 he was linked with a move away from the club in the January transfer window.

[22][23] He debuted for the Tigers in their EFL Cup first round tie away at Sunderland on 5 September 2020, with Hull winning via a penalty shoot-out after a 0–0 draw.

[28] His final appearance for the Tigers was their 3–0 win over Queens Park Rangers on 13 April 2024,[29] a game in which Docherty came off the bench, replacing Jean Michaël Seri with five minutes to go.
