It is one of the churches for the Gran/Tingelstad parish which is part of the Hadeland og Land prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar.
The white, concrete church was built in a rectangular design in 2003 using plans drawn up by the architect Trude Often Sveen.
The church was designed in the Swiss chalet style and it was a log building.
A public meeting and exhibition were held, and eventually the proposal from the architectural firm Madsø-Lund-Sveen was chosen.
The new church was consecrated on 24 August 2003 by the Bishop Rosemarie Köhn.
