Guapó

Guapó (Portuguese: [ɡwaˈpɔ]) is a municipality in central Goiás state, Brazil.

The lands where Guapó is located today once belonged to Trindade.

With the transfer of the new capital in 1935 it was dismembered from Trindade and made part of Goiânia.

"Guapó" is of Tupi origin and means "eater of roots".

The main agricultural products in 2006 were bananas, rice, sugarcane, manioc, corn, soybeans, and tomatoes.
