Gunn City, Missouri

Gunn City is a village in Cass County, Missouri, United States.

Outraged by a swindle by certain officials of a company building a rail line to Santa Fe, local citizens reacted by trapping the perpetrators on a train and shooting them dead.

There were 36 housing units at an average density of 450.0 per square mile (173.7/km2).

The racial makeup of the village was 89.8% White, 0.8% African American, 0.8% Pacific Islander, and 8.5% from two or more races.

15.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

There were 18.8% of families and 22.2% of the population living below the poverty line, including 30.0% of under eighteens and none of those over 64.
