[9] The metro line phase 1 starts at Bến Thành station in District 1, passes through Phạm Hồng Thái, Cách Mạng Tháng Tám, and Trường Chinh streets underground, and elevated at Tân Bình station at before turn left to ends at Tham Lương depot in District 12.

The metro line phase 2 starts at Bến Thành station, go to the southeast, passes underground through Hàm Nghi Boulevard in District 1, Saigon River parallel with the Thủ Thiêm Tunnel to Mai Chí Thọ Boulevard and elevated at Thủ Thiêm station in Thủ Đức to connect with Thủ Thiêm–Long Thành Light Rail and North–South express railway.
