HD 152079

HD 152079 is a star with an orbiting exoplanet in the southern constellation of Ara.

It is located at a distance of 287 light years from the Sun based on parallax measurements,[2] but is drifting closer with a radial velocity of −21 km/s.

[4] At that distance the star is much too faint to be visible with the naked eye, having an apparent visual magnitude of 9.18.

This is a metal-rich star, having a higher iron abundance than in the Sun.

[5] The star is radiating 1.44[6] times the luminosity of the Sun from its photosphere at an effective temperature of 5,907 K.[5] It has one confirmed exoplanet, discovered in 2010 by the Magellan Planet Search Program.
