Haddam is a town in Middlesex County, Connecticut, United States.
The town is part of the Lower Connecticut River Valley Planning Region.
[4] The town was also home to the now-decommissioned Connecticut Yankee Nuclear Power Plant.
It was incorporated in October 1668 as Hadham,[citation needed] but unusually for the many New England towns ending in -ham, the spelling eventually came to reflect the phonetic pronunciation.
For the first two hundred years of the town's existence, the Connecticut River was a major source of income and transportation.
18.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
