The racial makeup of the village was 98.68% White, 0.33% Native American, 0.33% Pacific Islander, and 0.66% from two or more races.

About 11.8% of families and 15.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 11.1% of those under the age of eighteen and 17.2% of those 65 or over.
