Hampton, New York

Hampton is a town in Washington County, New York, United States.

[2] The town of Hampton is located in the northeastern corner of Washington County.

The town was formed in 1786 and was once called "Hampton Corners" and "Greenfield."

It was founded by former American Revolutionary War officer Gideon G. Warren.

The William Miller Chapel and Ascension Rock was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Part of the boundary is marked by the Poultney River, which flows into Lake Champlain.

20.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
