Hanestad Church

It is the church for the Hanestad parish which is part of the Nord-Østerdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar.

The brown, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1926 using plans drawn up by the architect Carl Berner.

[1][2] In the late 1910s, the parish received permission to build an annex chapel in Hanestad.

The builder was Kristoffer Brændhagen from Romedal, and the spire and gutters were made by the blacksmith J.H.

In 1997, the chapel was upgraded in status to a parish church.
