Hardwick, California

Hardwick is a census-designated place[4] (CDP) in Kings County, California, United States.

The village is located 6.5 miles (10 km) northwest of Hanford,[5] at an elevation of 249 feet (76 m).

The Kings River runs 1.2 miles (1.9 km) north of the community.

Hardwick was named to commemorate an official of the Southern Pacific Railroad.

[citation needed] A post office was established in Hardwick in 1895, discontinued in 1904, reestablished in 1909, and finally permanently closed in 1942.

There were 37 housing units at an average density of 266.7 per square mile (103.0/km2), of which 18 (52.9%) were owner-occupied, and 16 (47.1%) were occupied by renters.
