Harry Elbert "Deerfoot" Bay (January 17, 1878 – March 19, 1952)[1] was an American professional baseball player who played outfield in the major leagues from 1901 to 1908.
He played high school baseball with Harry Frazee, a future owner of the Boston Red Sox.
He led the American League in stolen bases in 1903 and 1904 with 45 and 38 respectively as a member of the Cleveland Naps.
The knee injury slowed him down for the remainder of his career, and he never played a full season again.
[3] After retiring from baseball in 1908, he returned to Peoria, became a bandleader at the local Apollo Theater, and toured the vaudeville circuit with Guy Kibbee.
