He was part of the Australian teams that won the 1954 Commonwealth Tournament at St Andrews and the 1966 Eisenhower Trophy in Mexico City.

[14][15] In 1954, Berwick was part of the six-man Australian team that played in the inaugural Commonwealth Tournament on the Old Course at St Andrews.

His decision followed a change in the Australian PGA rules which meant that some new professionals no longer needed to serve an apprenticeship before receiving prize money.
